Uganda To Host the 2023 Netball Africa Cup

The host nation for the 2023 Netball Africa Cup is officially Uganda. The Africa Netball Cup will be held for the 13th time and the first of its kind Africa Netball, men’s netball cup. The regional netball governing body, Africa Netball, reaffirmed that Uganda was granted the hosting rights.

After receiving confirmation that all hosting conditions will be met before and during the tournament to ensure the smooth operation of both competitions, Africa Netball is happy to grant Uganda Netball Federation the hosting rights. Reads a portion of the letter signed by Cecilia Molokwane, the president, and the full executive committee. “Upon confirmation that all the hosting requirements will be in place before and during the tournament to allow the smooth running of both competitions,” the letter added.

Among other requirements needed for hosting the Africa Netball Cup, include playing venues (an indoor facility with a sprung floor), meeting venues, accommodation facilities for teams, match officials, Africa Netball executive committee members and World Netball staff, inland transport for umpires, UAP, UN staff, Africa Netball board, medical, security, volunteers, team liaison officers and others.

Additionally, Africa Netball will train umpires (with Africa C’s and B’s) and conduct an ACOF training that will be provided by the Umpire Appointments Panel. The tournament’s date has not yet been determined and officially announced.

The MTN Lugogo Indoor Arena, Makerere Netball Courts, Kamwokya, and Africa Bible University Lubowa are just a few of the venues Uganda can choose from. This is going to be another achievement for the Uganda Netball Federation executive, under the direction of Sarah Babirye, as well as for the entire country of Uganda.
