Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and His Ethiopian Counterpart Meet President Museveni
President Yoweri Museveni met Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces and Ethiopia’s Chief of the General Staff, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, and his delegation to State House in Entebbe. Museveni highlighted the importance of bolstering military and bilateral relations between Uganda and Ethiopia, emphasizing collaboration in trade and other sectors to advance African unity and prosperity.
The Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, led the visiting Ethiopian military delegation to State House in Entebbe on 3rd July 2024, where they met President Yoweri Museveni.
The Ethiopian military delegation is headed by Gen Kainerugaba’s Ethiopian counterpart, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, the Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force.
The Ethiopian military chief is in Uganda at the invitation of Gen Muhoozi. President Museveni thanked the visiting delegation and highlighted the importance of strengthening military and bilateral relations among African nations.
The Ugandan leader emphasized the need to work together in various aspects, such as trade, to create a strong and prosperous Africa.
The meeting was also attended by the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Etsegenet Bezabih, Commander of the UPDF Air Force, Lieutenant General Charles Okidi, and Commander of the Field Artillery Division, Brigadier General Daniel Kakono.
The meeting with the President follows the CDF’s meeting with the Ethiopian Field Marshal before hosting him for dinner with his delegation.
