Centenary Bank and Rotary Club International Raise Over Sh380m for Nsambya Hospital Radiotherapy Plant During Kagadi Cancer Run
Centenary Bank branches, in partnership with Rotary Club International, raised over sh380m during the Kagadi Cancer Run to help construct a radiotherapy plant at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala. This is part of the sh11.8bn needed for the project. The funds will aid in cancer screening and treatment.

Johnson Galimaka, the Kagadi Centenary Bank Manager, who represented the Managing Director Centenary Bank Fabian Kasi during the Kagadi cancer run flag off held at freedom tree in Kagadi town council on Sunday.
Galimaka said a total of sh380m has been collected and handed over to Rotary club international as a contribution of the needed sh11.8bn to construct a radiotherapy plant for cancer screening at treatment at Nsambya Hospital.
‘’As centenary Bank branches which are 81 in number, we have already contributed sh380m towards the construction of a radiotherapy plant at Nsambya Hospital to help in the screening and treatment of cancer patients.

‘’A total of 1,600 women in greater Kibaale have tested positive to Human papilloma virus (HPV) 22,448 have been screened and some treated with thermo coagulator since 2019. Some of the challenges we have include lack of enough equipment for testing, less involvement of men as carriers of Human papilloma virus, less funding, and negative misconception of women towards testing and treatment of cervical cancer’’, said Namagembe.
