Mandela National stadium Namboole Playing Surface Upgraded to A Hybrid Version

With close to two weeks to the commencement of the African Nations Championships (CHAN), the playing surface is undergoing final touches of being transformed into a hybrid surface.

The playing surface of Namboole stadium is in the final phase of its transformation into a hybrid pitch, with nearly two weeks remaining before the African Nations Championships (CHAN) kicks off.

This is one of the most significant changes on the facility that Uganda will be using for the tournament slated for February 1-28.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya Uganda and Tanzania.

This was witnessed on Sunday during the final inspection of the CAF inspection team ahead of the tournament.

The CAF team first inspected Kenya, came to Uganda and will finish up Tanzania.

Serge Assume (country manager for Uganda led the inspection team from CAF while stateinidter for sports Peter Ogwang, NCS chairperson Ambrose Tashobya and general secretary Bernard Ogwel on behalf of the Local organizing Committee and others were around.

The team visited all the three training facilities (Kampala international school Uganda (KISU), Kadiba and Wankulukuku stadium.
