Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and President John Mahama Discuss Economic Integration and Security in Africa
Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, met with Ghana’s newly elected President, John Mahama, in Entebbe.The meeting focused on strengthening Pan-African cooperation, with discussions on enhancing economic integration between East and West Africa and developing strategies to protect the continent from emerging global power competition.
The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, met with Ghana’s newly elected President, John Mahama, today at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.
According to veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda, Mahama’s delegation included Prosper Bani, Ghana’s new Security Minister, and Koby, a prominent young Ghanaian businessman.
“The new President of Ghana, HE John Mahama, held talks with Uganda’s CDF, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. His delegation featured Prosper Bani (far left), the new Security Minister, and Koby (far right), one of Ghana’s smartest and youngest businessmen,” Mwenda posted on X.
Mwenda also noted that Gen. Kainerugaba’s delegation included Joseph Ochwet, Director General of the External Security Organisation (ESO), and Jerry Luyinda, who was described as “a security expert” in the region.
In a previous post, Mwenda revealed that President Mahama sought to strengthen Pan-African cooperation. During the meeting, he and the CDF explored ways to enhance economic integration between East and West Africa and discussed strategies to shield Africa from “being dragged into emerging great power competition.”
