Uganda is hosting the 2023 All Africa Junior Golf Championship at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort.

On Monday, April 17, the first round of the 2023 All Africa Junior Golf Championship officially begins at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa course in Kigo, Wakiso district Uganda.

The all-Africa Junior Golf Championship is being hosted by Uganda and Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are among the 15 nations that will participate.

Uganda’s team is led by Joseph Reagan Akena, he is vastly experienced having also played at the 2022 All Africa Junior Golf championship that was held in Egypt alongside Ibrahim Ssemakula, 16 years old. The other members on team Uganda include Ibrahim Ssemakula, Juma Abiti and Abdul Nsereko.

Some of the girl players include: Frista Birabwa (17), Winnie Musuya (14) and Vivian Wanok Achen (16), who all performed in Egypt last year.

The stroke format of play will be considered over 72 holes with the best three scores per day counting for the boys. And for the girls, the best two scores per day will be considered. The top three performers will qualify to represent Africa at the global championship in Tokyo city coming up in June 2023.
