Senior Presidential Advisor for the Lango sub-region, Sam Engola, has said those doubting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba should know that there are many leaders who came to power at a very young age.

Presidential Advisor for Lango Sub-Region Sam Engola also named MK movement Patron

The senior presidential advisor for Lango sub region Sam Engola said that for several reasons, including Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s maturity to assume a leadership role, the continuation of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), and the protection of the party’s members from victimization are some of the reasons he welcomed him to the sub region.

Engola spoke on Monday afternoon at a ceremony in Lira city’s Mayor’s Gardens to commission “MK Army” constructions for the Lango sub-region.

“Muhoozi is walking in his father’s footsteps. He is a capable leader because he is already a General in the Army”, according to Engola. If the country’s leadership changes significantly, he voiced concern that those who have been supporting NRM may suffer injustice.

“We must do our things in a systematic way that if President Museveni becomes the NRM chairman and Muhoozi becomes the president, they will work together, and Uganda will be stable. We want security,” Engola said.

Engola predicted that, like what is occurring in Sudan, all NRM members would be victimized if someone from the opposition were to win the presidency. He used the case of former US president Donald Trump, who is engaged in a few court disputes, to illustrate what might occur in Uganda if the opposition were to seize power. Gen. Muhoozi’s representative, Balaam Barugahara, informed reporters that they are collaborating with NRM elders to create a grassroots movement. He claimed that they hired marketers and partisans to safeguard their votes and urged young people to run for office.

In order to ensure Gen. Muhoozi’s nomination for the presidency in 2026, according to Barugahara, a task group for the campaign has been established. The announcement follows a similar one held three days prior at the Garden Inn Hotel in Lira city by a group going by the name of Original Muhoozi Army. The endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for presidency in 2026 by a senior presidential advisor Lango sub region predicts a better future for Uganda.
