First Lady Janet Museveni Calls for the Protection of Families to Ensure Societal Stability
The First Lady and education minister, Janet Museveni, while attending Pastor Nicholas and Elizabeth Wafula’s 50-year marriage golden jubilee anniversary, urged Ugandans to stand up for family because it is basic for the stability of any society.
“Safeguarding the family is crucial for maintaining societal stability. As such, we must nurture our children to respect the teachings of the Word of God and adhere to its principles. We have a responsibility to stand up for what is right and defend the family as the foundation of society’’, Mama Janet said. She said this while she was in attendance of Pastor Nicholas and Elizabeth Wafula’s golden jubilee anniversary, and she also extended her heartfelt congratulations to them on the remarkable accomplishment.
Janet Museveni noted that she was grateful that the Wafulas decided to mark this significant milestone with a grand celebration, particularly during a time when the institution of the family faces unprecedented challenges.
She said that through Nicholas and Elizabeth’s inspiring journey, Ugandans can glean three essential lessons: never despise the day of small beginnings, let your home be a shelter to others, and do not give up on each other.
She then wholeheartedly commended the Wafulas for their exemplary contributions to the church and the nation. And thanked them for their dedication to fostering spiritual growth, responsible stewardship, mentorship, and exceptional leadership in all their endeavours.
