The Women Deliver Summit: Empowering Gender Equality and Leadership
The Women Deliver Summit, scheduled to begin on July 17th, 2023, kicked off with the arrival of the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, in Kigali on July 16. The conference is recognized as one of the largest and most diverse gatherings aimed at promoting gender equality across various sectors. This year, the conference is taking place in Kigali, marking the first Women Deliver event to be held in Africa.
The Women Deliver Summit in Rwanda, which is beginning today Monday, July 17th, 2023, welcomed the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah.
At the Kigali International Airport, The Premier’s counterpart, Dr. Edouard Ngirente, and Uganda’s ambassador, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Robert Rusoke, welcomed her.
One of the biggest multi-sectoral events to advance gender equality is the Women Deliver conference.
Over 6,000 attendees in person and more than 300,000 online are anticipated for the Kigali conference, the first Women Deliver gathering in Africa.
Later, as Uganda’s Crested Cranes play Rwanda’s She-Amavubi in the second leg of the first round of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Qualifiers Paris 2024, the Prime Minister cheered with football supporters at Kigali Pele Stadium on 16th July 2023.
