UPDF Marine, Special Forces, 222, 301 Brigade Infantry Squads, Eliminate Terrorists Responsible for Tourist Murders
Two foreign tourists and a Ugandan guide were killed by suspected terrorists near Queen Elizabeth National Park about two weeks ago. The UPDF, under the direction of intelligence, conducted a successful operation to eliminate these terrorists near Lake Edward. The operation targeted members of the group responsible for the tourist murders, and efforts are ongoing to eliminate ADF splinter groups.
Terrorists suspected to have been behind the triple murders of two foreign nationals and Ugandan tour guide have been killed.
The incident happened about two weeks ago, when two tourists from the UK and South Africa and their Ugandan guide were killed when assailants attacked their vehicle near Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Deputy Army Spokesman Col. Deo Akiiki posted on X on Wednesday morning, stating: “Last night on Lake Edward off Kayanja Landing Site in Kasese district, some ADF terrorists whom @MODVA_UPDF have been tracking down since the attack on terrorists were finally got and a number of them were killed.”
Col. Akiiki stated that the terrorists were eliminated after an operation directed by intelligence.
“In a well-coordinated night operation, a number of them died under combined fire of UPDF marine, special forces, 222, 301 Brigade Infantry Squads,” Akiiki stated.
It should be mentioned that this person was a member of the group that killed the tourists, according to Col. Akiiki.
Col. Akiiki continued, “The operation is still on to finish all the ADF splinter groups.”
