President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday met and held discussions with the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Uganda, H.E William W. Popp at State House Entebbe.

President Museveni and Ambassador Popp spoke about a variety of subjects during the meeting, including the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) controversy.

Additionally, H.E. Museveni sent a special message to H.E. Joe Biden, the president of the United States of America. Ambassador Popp received the letter and will give it to the US president.

“H.E President Biden wrote to me about AGOA, so I have answered him. You will deliver the letter to him,” the President said.

Ambassador Popp, for his part, reaffirmed the US government’s resolve to carry on advancing bilateral relations with Uganda in order to continue working together.

We do intend to carry out various projects that involve business dealings with Uganda as a whole. There could be no limitations on working on these projects,” he said.
