The government has alocated Sh1 billion to each district and municipality for the upkeep of roads beyond the purview of the Uganda National Roads Authority in response to public outrage about the poor condition of district roads.
The allocation was also a directive from President Yoweri Museveni, according to David Karubanga chairperson Parliamentary physical infrastructure who was presenting a report on the policy statement of the works ministry for the Financial year 2023–2024.
