The law enforcement authorities are extending a monetary reward of sh20m to individuals providing credible information leading to the apprehension of two suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). Police spokesperson Fred Enanga has identified the sought-after individuals as Musa Kamusi and Habib Sulaiman.

Kamusi is believed to be the commander of a breakaway ADF cell previously led by Abdul Rashid Kyoto, also known as Njovu, who was apprehended last month. The Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force is actively pursuing Kamusi and Sulaiman for their alleged roles in terrorist activities, including the deployment of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the central business district of Kampala and Butambala.

The duo is also suspected of orchestrating terror attacks along the Bundibugyo-Kasese axis in collaboration with the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force appeals to individuals possessing pertinent information that could lead to the arrest and subsequent prosecution of these suspects to discreetly share it with the nearest police station or contact the provided telephone numbers: 0800199699, 0707600773, and 0776999136, as indicated in the advert signed by Enanga.

Background:

Recent incidents, including twin IED explosions in Kikubamutwe parish, Kabalagala in Makindye Division, Kampala, and another in Nabweru 2 cell in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, have been linked to the ADF by President Yoweri Museveni.

The President has urged the public to remain vigilant against the ADF, accusing them of resorting to terrorism through the planting of homemade bombs.

Col. Deo Akiiki, the Defence deputy spokesperson, disclosed that the two IEDs involved were mechanical timer bombs. The explosion in Nabweru was reportedly caused by two individuals who rented a house for three months and left a bag containing the IED. The Kabalagala explosion occurred on the veranda of a house on a busy street, resulting in no casualties.
