First Lady Janet Museveni commends Huawei for digitalizing the education system and promoting ICT in Ugandan educational institutions. She expressed optimism about further collaboration in 2024 after meeting with Huawei’s senior management.

The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Janet Museveni, lauded Huawei Technologies Uganda for digitalising the education system.

She also lauded Huawei for its exceptional efforts in promoting Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the country’s educational institutions.

“I recently met with the senior management team from Huawei Technologies Uganda. During our meeting, they provided me with an update on the progress of their digital education initiatives,” Mrs. Museveni posted on December 17^th , 2023.

The First Lady added, “We are optimistic that we can explore further opportunities for collaboration with Huawei in 2024 and embark on a new venture together.”


Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.

Huawei is currently the most well-known international corporation in China and a pioneer of the 5G mobile phone standard, which has come to be used globally.

Huawei provides a ripe opportunity for Uganda to harness digital technology and promote innovation and sustainable development.
