Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba Enhances Uganda-Algeria Military Cooperation
Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defense Forces of the UPDF and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, arrived in Algiers, Algeria, for discussions on military cooperation and bilateral ties.
The Chief of Defense Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, arrived in Algiers, Algeria, yesterday for military and bilateral discussions.
Accompanied by senior UPDF officials, including Maj. Gen. James Birungi, Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security; Maj. Gen. Bob Ogiki, Joint Staff Policy and Strategy; and Maj. Gen. Keith Katungi, 5th Division Infantry Commander, Gen. Kainerugaba was warmly welcomed by high-ranking Algerian military officials.
During his visit, Gen. Kainerugaba is set to engage with his counterpart, General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army of Algeria.
As Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen. Kainerugaba will also meet other top Algerian military leaders. The visit aims to strengthen military cooperation and bilateral relations between Uganda and Algeria.
