Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to Attend President Paul Kagame’s Fourth Term Inauguration in Rwanda

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, will attend President Paul Kagame’s fourth-term inauguration in Rwanda. Kagame won the July election with 99.15% of the vote.

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, will attend the inauguration ceremony of Paul Kagame, who will be sworn in as the President of Rwanda for the fourth term.

“I am pleased to announce that I will soon be visiting my second home, Rwanda, to attend Afande Kagame’s inauguration ceremony,” said General Kainerugaba, who last visited Kigali to meet President Kagame in 2023, on 5th August 2024

“It will undoubtedly be the biggest celebration in Africa this year. Rukundo Egumeho!”

Kagame secured a record fourth term in the July election, winning 99.15% of the total 9,071,157 votes cast.

Kagame, 66, representing the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), defeated his closest rival, Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party, who received 38,301 votes (0.53%), and Phillipe Mpayimana, who garnered 22,753 votes (0.32%).

In a congratulatory message to President Paul Kagame, President Yoweri Museveni praised the Rwandan leader, highlighting the trust and confidence the Rwandan people have in his leadership.

“Your re-election is a testament to the trust and confidence the people of Rwanda have in your leadership,” Museveni remarked.

Museveni also emphasized the strategic alliance between Uganda and Rwanda, noting the shared vision of peace and prosperity that unites the two nations.

“Uganda recognizes Rwanda as a strategic ally with a shared vision of peace and prosperity,” Museveni said.

During a dinner celebrating General Kainerugaba 49th birthday in 2023, President Kagame commended him for his role in mending relations between Kigali and Kampala.
