Google Classroom Now Let’s Teachers Add Interactive Questions to YouTube Videos
Since March, the interactive questions feature has been in beta on Google. It is exclusively available to users with the Teaching and Learning upgrade or the Education Plus plan and will be fully rolled out in the next three days. Administrators can enable the feature using the admin console. Additionally, Google’s Bard AI chatbot can now provide targeted answers to questions about YouTube videos.
Today 14th December 2023, Google released a new feature for Classroom that lets teachers create interactive assignments from any YouTube video by adding questions that students must answer while watching.
Teachers can use the interactive questions feature to monitor their students’ progress by creating open-ended or multiple-choice questions, giving feedback on the answers, and accessing a dashboard of important insights. Students can view the incorrect responses in the interim and watch the video again to make sure they understand what went wrong.
Google Classroom, an educational platform with over 150 million users, has long been recognized as a helpful tool for instructors to interact with students and oversee their classes. Furthermore, users will probably find the new interactive questions feature useful as YouTube has emerged as a go-to source for instructional videos.
“While students will benefit from interactive YouTube video assignments, educators will also be able to identify concepts that require more time for instruction, identify students who may need extra support, and also shape future lesson plans,” Google stated in a blog post today.
