Kiryandongo District Local Government Commissions Capital Projects worth Shs6.43 Billion for Fiscal Year 2022/2023
The Kiryandongo District local government recently completed capital projects worth shs6.43 billion during the Fiscal year 2022/2023. These projects encompassed classroom blocks, general and maternity wards, doctor’s houses, boreholes, small-scale irrigation schemes, and first-class marram roads across the district.

Kiryandongo District local government on 1st Aug 2023 commissioned capital projects worth shs6.43 billion implemented during the Fiscal year 2022/2023. The projects commissioned across the District included classroom blocks, general wards, maternity wards, doctor’s houses, boreholes, small-scale irrigation schemes and first-class marram roads.
While commissioning a staff house at Panyadoli Hills Health Centre III, Ms Edith Aliguma Adyeri, the Kiryandongo District Chairperson urged the health workers to desist from absenteeism and offer timely services since accommodation was within the facility.
She added that it was a deliberate effort by the District leadership to improve the health facility infrastructure at Panyadoli HCIV, Panyadoli Hills HC III and Masindi Port HC III given the number of patients they handle.

The projects commissioned were implemented with funding from Government Uganda School Facility Grant, Rural Water Development Grant and the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project-DRDIP.
Kiryandongo district has been implementing DRDIP projects since 2018 and 26 billion shillings have been invested in livelihood, infrastructure and sustainable environment and natural resources management.
