Mitooma District Officials Formally Approve President Museveni as NRM Candidate for the 2026 Presidential Elections
Mitooma district officials endorse President Museveni to represent the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the 2026 presidential elections. The endorsement took place during the International Women’s Day festivities at Kyamuyanga Primary School on June 16th, 2023.
Mitooma district officials have formally endorsed President Museveni to represent the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the future 2026 presidential elections, and the H.E Mzee Tova Ku Main 2026 campaign. This endorsement happened on Friday, June 16th, 2023, as part of the International Women’s Day festivities at Kyamuyanga Primary School.
Prominent individuals spoke out in favour of the initiative, including NRM Chairman Byaboneka Wilberforce, parliamentarians Hon. Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda and Hon. Agasha Juliet Bashisha, Chairman of LC5 Mr. Benon Karyeija, also known as Boneza, and Hon. Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda. Members of Parliament from various districts come together to support the initiative.
Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the prime minister of Uganda, attended the endorsement event as the chief guest. Coordinator Benson Mugisha thanked the Prime Minister and the Mitooma district leaders for their affectionate show and everlasting support of President Museveni on behalf of the Greater Bushenyi Sub-region ONC (office of the national chairperson).
The ONC team is leading the H.E. Mzee Tova Ku Main 2026 campaign, which attempts to garner broad support for President Museveni as the NRM’s nominee for president in the 2026 elections. The support of prominent politicians and other influential people, as well as the endorsement of Mitooma district officials, is a substantial boost for the campaign.
The endorsement of the Mitooma district chiefs comes at a crucial time for President Museveni’s administration and the NRM party as election season approaches. The goal of the campaign is to build broad support and momentum in advance of the approaching 2026 elections.
