Muslim Fraternity Praises Museveni on the Iran President Visit
President Raisi of Iran visited Uganda on an official tour, and religious leaders and officials expressed appreciation for his visit. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje thanked President Museveni for including the visit in the schedule and expressed hope for growth and collaboration between the two nations. The Mufti of Uganda highlighted the efforts of the Inter-Religious Council in promoting peace and unity. The Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu praised the partnership between Uganda and Iran and anticipated continued growth.
Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje remarked, “We especially want to thank His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for giving us the chance to be a part of the official visit’s schedule for you [President Raisi].”
“May Allah guide him [Museveni] and take him to other heights of prosperity.”
“We pray that your visit will significantly advance chances for growth and collaboration between our nations.”
The Mufti of Uganda said, “As Muslims, we are working together with our religion counterparts as one body through the Inter-Religious Council to ensure peace across the nation. The Muslim leader made the comments on Wednesday night as Raisi was touring the Gaddafi Mosque in Old Kampala.
Mubajje thanked the Iranian president for visiting at a time when Uganda was prepared to benefit from bilateral collaboration for social and economic development.
He praised the recent peace between the two Muslim nations of Saudi Arabia and your administration, saying, “We hail the reconciliation.”
“We pray for the expansion and promotion of the peace initiative to other Muslim nations still engaged in armed conflict, such as Palestine, Yemen, Syria, and Sudan.”
The Inter-Religious Council has been enhanced by President Museveni’s efforts to create a favorable climate for intercultural discussion for many years, according to the Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.
“Since the establishment of IRC in 2001, there has been growing trust, harmony, and integration, where several interventions have been possible in converting poverty, HIV and AIDS, and others,” said Kaziimba, the bishop of the Anglican church in Uganda.
“We are therefore confident that there will be continuous growth with this partnership with the Iranian government.”
President Raisi also paid a visit to the Al-Mustafa Islamic College in Kyengera while on his tour and talked with some Muslims there while they were praying.
In Nakirebe, off Masaka Road, he also visited Aidan-Uganda Agricultural Park, where he planted a tree as a potential countermeasure to climate change and biodiversity loss.
After his one-day visit, the Iranian leader was seen off by foreign affairs state minister Henry Okello Oryem at Entebbe Airport on Thursday morning.
