Addressing a press conference at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala, Mathew Lubulwa of the Uganda Evaluation Association announced that the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, is expected to preside over the conference’s opening ceremony.

Uganda’s National Development Program III (NDP III) is a strategic framework that aligns with the Uganda Vision 2040, aiming to elevate the country to middle-income status. It emphasizes enhancing competitiveness for sustainable wealth creation, employment, and inclusive growth. This program is crucial in accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening resilience against the adverse effects of climate change.

The NDP III highlights the importance of rigorous evaluation and accountability, which are essential for learning, adapting strategies, and effectively achieving national development targets.

Mr. Lubulwa emphasized that the conference will focus on learning and accountability as catalysts for achieving national targets and advancing the SDGs. The theme is designed to inspire action and reflection on integrating these elements into our evaluation efforts, thereby enabling informed decision-making in project and program service delivery.

The Uganda Evaluation Conference 2024 seeks to achieve the following objectives:
