National Resistance Movement Secretary General Todwong holds talks with Chinese Envoy
The Secretary-General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong welcomed the Chinese Minister Counsellor to Uganda, H.E. Fan Xuechang, yesterday, Thursday 13th July 2023,at the party headquarters in Nakasero, Kampala.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed fostering bilateral relations in the field of technological development and how the NRM and the Communist Party of China (CPC) can work together.
Todwong emphasized that Uganda and China share a common history of fighting for the social welfare of their people. He expressed the NRM’s commitment to partnering with the Chinese CPC to strengthen mutual benefits.
In response, H.E. Xuechang extended an invitation to NRM officials for a working study tour on poverty alleviation and enhancing party ideology.
On behalf of the NRM, Todwong welcomed H.E. Xuechang on his tour of duty as the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uganda. He also thanked Republic of China for the significant role played in enhancing the bilateral cooperation and fraternal relationship between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Todwong assured H.E. Xuechang of NRM’s continued commitment to working with China in consolidating the already existing strategic bond between the two revolutionary Political Parties.
H.E. Xuechang who was delighted to meet the Secretary General, thanked the NRM government for the warm reception and hospitality.
He reiterated his commitment to strengthening the bilateral ties Uganda and China have enjoyed for decades and promised to work with the the NRM party since the two political parties share a lot of similarities.
The Rt Hon Todwong commended China for being a dependable and reliable partner for all progressive African political parties and organizations that stand for socio-economic transformation of the peoples of Africa.
“The people’s Republic of China today, is one of Africa’s largest donors, investment, and trading partner whose loans and grants have benefitted large infrastructural projects such as roads, energy, and industrial parks”, Tadwong said.
