Nsangi Police Bust Criminal Network: Over 80 Suspects Arrested

The Police in Nsangi, located within Wakiso district, have executed an intelligence-driven operation targeting individuals known for perpetrating ambushes against travellers. Patrick Onyango, the spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, stated that these offenders are notorious for frequenting gambling establishments before launching assaults on unsuspecting victims. The operation, spanning regions such as Kyengera town council, Buddo, Kasenge Kinawa, and surrounding areas in Wakiso district, resulted in the apprehension of over 80 suspects. Onyango disclosed that these suspects are presently detained at Nsangi Police Station awaiting further processing.
Among the seized exhibits were tools utilized for breaking and entering, knives, marijuana, and master keys, indicating potential involvement in burglary and housebreaking activities within the vicinity, as conveyed by Onyango. Furthermore, Police suspect that the detained individuals may be affiliated with a larger criminal network responsible for orchestrating such offenses. As investigations advance, the suspects undergo screening, and their case files are being prepared for legal proceedings.
It is anticipated that the suspects will appear in court tomorrow to face charges related to their alleged criminal activities. Meanwhile, efforts to combat crime in the area persist, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public safety and security.
