President Museveni has disclosed that killers of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Kagezi have finally been arrested.

On the evening of March 15, 2015, Joan Kagezi was killed in the Kiwatule suburb of Kampala while en route to her home.

As part of the investigation, security agencies detained a number of suspects, but later released them because there was insufficient evidence.

On Sunday afternoon, Museveni declared, “The suspects in the killing of Joan Kagezi have, finally, been arrested.”

Kibuuka John, Masajjage John, Kissekka Dan, and Nasur Abdalla are those people. He continued, “They were traveling on two motorcycles.

The President withheld information regarding the suspects’ capture.

But according to a defense official some of the suspects were taken into custody in Kampala.

According to a source who wished to remain anonymous so they could speak freely, “The suspects had gone into hiding for several years.”

But some of them went back to their regular lives, believing that we had given up on the case. That’s how we acquired them.

Museveni said that the suspects “will soon be produced in court” and complimented the CID and Internal Security Organization (ISO) “on the good work.”

It was recently revealed by Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo that Joan Kagezi was murdered while spearheading the prosecution of the suspects in the 2010 Kampala bombing.

“We were severely traumatized.” he said.
