President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday Tuesday 23rd May 2023 visited Bukoto Central Youth Link Coffee Factory at Kamuzinda village in Kyanamukaka sub county, Masaka district where he urged farmers to add value to their out-put in order to uplift their welfare.

The team of coffee farmers led by Mr. Julius Kanamwangi, the chairman of Bukoto Central Youth Link, welcomed the President upon his arrival with open arms. He was shown a variety of agricultural products, including packaged coffee powder and roasted coffee seeds, both of which are known locally as “kaawa.”

President Museveni thanked the attentive group of farmers for altering their life by getting involved in commercial agriculture. In order to significantly improve their standard of living, he claimed, farmers must add value to their output. He said that coffee may be roasted, ground, properly packaged, with milk and any other nice spice added, and then sold for a little bit more than the going rate.

He continued by citing an instance from Indonesia, where coffee is given value by being combined with milk and other significant spices, packaged, and then expensively sold. He then advised the farmers in Uganda to take a cue from Indonesia and any other nation that may help them add value to their harvest.
