President Museveni To Preside Over the Official Release Of 2024 Census Data By UBOS
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics will release the final 2024 Census results on October 3, with President Museveni presiding over the event. The report will cover population size, living conditions, and access to services. A panel discussion will provide deeper insights into the findings.
President Yoweri Museveni is set to preside over the official release of the final results of the 2024 National Population and Housing Census.
In a statement issued by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) on October 2, 2024, the public has been informed to anticipate comprehensive statistical data regarding Uganda’s demographics, housing conditions, and socioeconomic landscape.
Dr. Chris Mukiza, the Executive Director of UBOS, affirmed that the release, scheduled for October 3, 2024, aligns with the Census Roadmap and fulfills UBOS’s commitment made at the launch of the preliminary results on June 27, 2024.
The release will provide detailed insights into the five key Census questions:
- What is our population size?
- Where is the population distributed?
- What are the living conditions of the population?
- What assets do we possess?
- How do we access essential services?
Dr. Mukiza further noted that a panel discussion will accompany the event to offer a deeper analysis of the findings. Expert panelists have been selected to share their insights and foster a greater understanding of the results.
The event will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel and will be broadcast live on television, radio, and social media platforms to ensure all Ugandans have equal access to this critical information.
The National Population and Housing Census was conducted by UBOS in May 2024. Preliminary results reported a total population of 45.9 million people.
