Presidential Tour for Greater Masaka Sub-region to spur development, wealth creation and communal engagement
This week, 23rd- 24th May 2023, President Kaguta Museveni heads to Greater Masaka sub-region to promote investments, wealth creation, and the Parish Development Model under the theme; “Securing your future through wealth creation and shared prosperity.”
Preparations are in high gear among senior government officials, NRM leaders and local leadership in Masaka ahead of 2 days visit by President Museveni in the sub-region on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th and Kalangala on May 26th this week. The President’s visit is aimed to address critical issues, assess ongoing projects, and strengthen the government’s commitment to uplifting the lives of residents in Masaka and its surrounding areas.
During the visit, President Museveni will be touring model farms, factories, presidential industrial hub and making presentations on wealth creation programs.
Preparations are underway gearing up Presidential tour on Investment and Wealth Creation in Greater Masaka Sub-region. On Saturday, State house comptroller Ms. Jane Barekye, Minister of investment Hon. Evelyn Anite, Minister of Micro finance and small enterprises Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, Minister of state for health in charge of general duties Hon. Hanifa Kawoya, Executive Director of Uganda Investment Authority Mr. Morrisson Rwakakamba among others gathered in Masaka city and addressed regional leaders and residents in preparation for the President’s tour to ensure a seamless and successful visit.
During the Presidential tour, Uganda Investment Authority will hold an exhibition on value-addition & showcase One-Stop Centre services for domestic investors.
Furthermore, community engagement programs have been arranged to enable President Museveni to directly interact with residents, listen to their concerns, and gather feedback. This inclusive approach ensures that the visit serves as a platform for dialogue and understanding, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among all stakeholders.
President Museveni will present on Parish Development Model (PDM) releases & implementation status in the sub-region. Vice President H.E Jessica Alupo will discuss value addition.
President Museveni will highly embark on development initiatives, Wealth creation, value addition and fostering a renewed sense of communal engagement in the region. He will also meet with leaders, community representatives, and residents, and address them in various topics such as household income, Parish development model, Emyooga and employment opportunities.
Government officials, Local leaders and residents expressed their gratitude for the President’s visit, recognizing it as a significant step towards progress and development. They highlighted the potential for improved infrastructure, enhanced service delivery, and increased investment opportunities that would bring lasting positive change to Greater Masaka sub-region.
