Raxio Data Centre Welcomes Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ Microsoft Azure Stack to Uganda
Raxio Data Centre in Uganda has integrated Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ Microsoft Azure Stack into its Tier III certified facility. This localized version of Microsoft’s Azure cloud service will support Uganda’s goal of 90% business digital transformation by 2040, aligning with the National ICT and Broadband Policies.
In a bid to drive digital transformation in the country, Raxio Data Centre has welcomed Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ Microsoft Azure Stack into their Tier III certified state-of-the-art facility in Uganda.
This was during an official launch held this week at Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala.
The Azure Stack is a localised mini version of Microsoft’s big cloud service (Azure) with a portfolio of products that extends Azure services and capabilities to any environment, from the data centre to edge locations and remote offices.
The deployment of the Azure Stack by Liquid Intelligent Technologies supports the goal of achieving 90% of business digital transformation in Uganda by 2040 as outlined in the National ICT Policy and the National Broadband Policy of Uganda.
“We are excited to unveil the Microsoft Azure Stack to Raxio Data Centre. We are confident that our data hall is well-equipped to provide the ideal environment for the Azure Stack to thrive.
We are carrier and cloud neutral and certified to Tier III standards, offering 99.82% uptime and best in-class equipment. We offer secure colocation spaces and hosting environments of up to 400 racks to hold all mission critical IT infrastructure via a redundant environment,”
Additionally, our data hall employs a concurrently maintainable design, offering 2N+1 design on power, cooling, connectivity, and space with no single points of failure,” Godfrey Sserwamukoko, the General Manager of Raxio Data Centre noted.
With a widespread of businesses adopting a cloud-first principle, the deployment of the Azure stack is a timely move as it will pave the way for the seamless acceleration of cloud adoption by Ugandan businesses and enterprises with Microsoft’s robust and flexible cloud services.
Hosting on the Azure stack will also ensure businesses meet regulatory requirements which state how data should be stored and processed within the country to ensure data sovereignty and protection as mandated by the Data Protection and Privacy Act.
According to Michael Mukasa, the Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies the Azure Stack will be a game changer for local businesses as it will provide them with cost-effective cloud solutions, help them meet local data regulatory requirements and enable them to run latency sensitive business applications efficiently

The Azure Stack is currently deployed in African countries such as Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Tanzania, and most recently, Uganda.
