Rhino Athletics Club Receives More Sports Gear Donation

For a long time now, the Rhino Athletics Club has maintained the diligent efforts of exceptional service delivery, open transparency and unquestionable accountability in the execution of their duties at hand.

Definitely, there is that precious brick that has contributed by Rhinos Athletics club in the Uganda’s sports sub-sector development across different sports disciplines; rugby, football, cricket and lately Robotics.

Special appreciation to Andrew Byekwaso and family, Sports Uganda Limited UK, Soccer net United Kingdom, Regional Express, Emirates Airlines, African Scorpion, Jinja Hippos, Karibu International School – Iganga, Henry Musisi (Managing Director, African commodities) and all the the other local partners.

Meanwhile, the Sports Uganda Ltd UK organization has provided a number of education bursaries to the different hubs.

Lugazi Hub received 25 full bursaries at St. Andrews secondary school for playing football and 4 full bursaries at Jinja Progressive School.

Some of the hubs that Rhino Atheltic Club closely associates with include; Motion Youth (Kampala), Golden Impact (Mukon), Adjumani, Iganga, Kumi, Mbale, Lugazi and Gulu.

Relatedly, Rhino Athletics Club is also at the fore of promoting traditional African Sports and Games in Uganda. These games entail Omweso, Okwepena, Oware, Morabaraba, rope skipping (to improve outcomes for overall cardiovascular health), among others.

They have also upped the conservation strategy after forging the latest partnership with Lukango Tree Conservancy.

Programs as plogging, waste clearance, setting up nurseries for seedlings in decompostible containers and growing native species at each space are being promoted.

MTN Uganda pledges cash bonus for Cranes in doubleheader against Tanzania

Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Tanzania, MTN Uganda has pledged a cash reward for Cranes players.

The announcement was made on Monday at the MTN Uganda HQ in Industrial Area by the Chief Marketing Officer Somdev Sen.

“We have pledged prize money for each of the Uganda Cranes players when they win their upcoming matches against Tanzania in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“The incentive is on winning and winning only. The incentive is 1.5 million shillings to fifteen players and 2 million for the man of the match,” Somdev said.

MTN Uganda has arranged to set up a large LED screen at the Old Taxi Park where fans can watch the games and participate in various challenges and predictions.

In addition, MTN Uganda will reward the most engaged Uganda Cranes fans with Ugx 100,000 each based on their social media interactions and online content using the hashtag #MTNUgFootball.

“MTN Uganda will also reward the most engaged Uganda Cranes fans with cash each, based on their social media interactions and online content using the hashtag.

“Our aim is to bring back the passion for the Uganda Cranes. Even without a home ground, we are making sure that this game is in the eyes of every Ugandan. We want to do our part to make sure that Uganda Cranes make it to the next World Cup,” said Martin Sebuliba the Senior Manager Brand and Communication MTN Uganda.
