Spice Diana, Fameica, Azawi win awards at East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards

The Siri Regular hit maker Spice Diana, the people’s choice best Ugandan sound single award winner

Six East African nations Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Democratic Republic of the Congo were recognized for their talent. The People’s Choice Best Ugandan Sound Single was awarded to Spice Diana, the Siri Regular singer. She defeated rivals Winnie Nwagi’s Malaika, Juliana Kanyomozi’s Omwana, and Azawi’s Bamututte.

Florence Kasumba, the German-Ugandan descent, won the People’s Choice Film star of the Year Award. Wema Sepetu, Natasha Sinayobye, and Kate actress were the other candidates.

Majje, a duet between singers Fik Fameica and Azawi, received the People’s duet Single of the Year award. Additionally nominated in the same category were Kataleya and Kandle’s Ft. Fik Fameica’s Pose, Navio starring Elly Wamala’s Hamadi, Jose Chameleone and Spice Diana’s Emergency, and Hamadi by Navio.

Eddy Kenzo and Roberto from Zambia collaborated on the song Tudigida, which earned him the People’s Choice Alternative Fusion Single of the Year award. Both Nak, Fire by Bow featuring Harmonize and Nyoola by Bruce Melodie featuring Eddy Kenzo were nominated in the same category as The Way You Are by Harmonize featuring Bruce Melodie.

The awards honor the hottest entertainment talent in the area.
