The State-of-the-Art UPDF Headquarters
After only eight months with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba at the helm of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MoDVA) Headquarters is undergoing an impressive transformation into a state-of-the-art facility.
The transformation is witnessed in the completion of the state-of-the-art main gate, guard houses, asphalt road, and perimeter wall, highlighting the UPDF’s efficiency and dedication to infrastructure development under Gen Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
The highlight at Mbuya is the new multi-billion-shilling headquarters building, which is expected to be completed ahead of schedule, according to UPDF engineers.
During the groundbreaking ceremony in August this year, Gen Kainerugaba said the new structures will symbolize the UPDF’s commitment to modernization and excellence.
While the engineers had projected a three-year timeline for completion, Gen Kainerugaba indicated his preference for a shorter construction period, stating, “three years sounds like a long time.”
It now appears that the engineers have aligned their schedules with the CDF’s expectations.
As the MoDVA headquarters continue to shine, it’s clear that Gen Kainerugaba’s vision for a modern and efficient UPDF is becoming a reality.
