Ugandan Parliament Speaker Calls for Global Peace Efforts at Commonwealth Conference

She highlighted the need for Parliaments to address increasing violence and conflicts globally, emphasizing respect for diverse values and cultures. Among pledged Uganda’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation within the Commonwealth.

Uganda to Host 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers to Strengthen Commonwealth Diplomatic Ties

The upcoming Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC) in Uganda aims to fortify ties among Commonwealth Parliaments. Set to take place from January 3 to 6, 2024, the event will gather Speakers and Presiding Officers from 33 countries. Hon. Abdu Katuntu, Chairperson of the Coordination Committee, emphasized Uganda’s goal of enhancing diplomatic relations through collaboration with other parliaments. The conference is expected to boost tourism activity and create business opportunities, fostering trade relations with visiting delegations.
