Ugandan police recovered a series of bombs in Lungujja suburbs, Rubaga division, Kampala, following the earlier discovery of a bomb on a suspected suicide bomber near Pastor Robert Kayanja’s Miracle Centre Cathedral. One suspect was arrested after a bomb he concealed detonated.
A peace dialogue led by Maj. Gen. Don Nabasa, the 3 Division Commander, in Napak District, Karamoja region. He called upon the Karachunas to persuade their colleagues in the wilderness to surrender their guns voluntarily, as President Museveni had extended the amnesty window. The dialogue aimed to promote peace and economic transformation in the region.
The Director of Crime Intelligence in Uganda, AIGP Brig. Christopher Ddamulira, on 22nd August 2023 held a significant meeting with leaders of the Tabliq Sect at Crime Intelligence headquarters. The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration between the police and the Tabliq community for national security.
