Uganda Prepares for Innovative Digital Census

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is making significant strides in preparing for the groundbreaking digital Population Census scheduled for May 10, 2024, where 86 percent completion rate in preparatory tasks, UBOS is focusing on mapping cities and finalizing the procurement of over 120,000 tablets for the census during a media training session and launch of African Statistics Week.

Uganda’s Milk Secures Algerian Approval

A $500 million market opportunity in Algeria has been identified, and partnerships with Algerian experts are underway. Algeria is keen on importing milk from Uganda, with officials approving the venture. Uganda, producing 3.85 million litres of milk while consuming 800 million litres, is exploring avenues like exports and processing surplus milk.
