Shrideep Mangela delivered an outstanding century, leading Uganda to a commanding 166-run victory over Bahrain and securing the Cricket World Cup Challenge League B title in impressive fashion. Mangela’s long-awaited ton revitalized Uganda’s top order and bolstered his own standing within the Cricket Cranes lineup.

Looking ahead, Uganda’s prospects appear exceptionally bright. Under coach Abhay Sharma, the team concluded the tournament at the top of the table, two points clear of second-placed Italy. Moreover, the Cricket Cranes consistently outperformed their competitors throughout the group stages.

Uganda now stands as a strong favorite to finish in the top two by the end of the Challenge League B cycle, which includes two remaining legs, one in Tanzania and another in Hong Kong.

In addition to Mangela’s century, Dinesh Nakrani contributed an unbeaten 76 off 47 balls, with Raghav Dhawan and Robinson Obuya adding 27 and 24 runs, respectively. Although Riazat Shah managed only 11 runs, Mangela’s stellar performance compensated for the skipper’s off-day.

Mangela’s extended innings ended with him retiring hurt on 102 off 128 balls. In the bowling department, Alpesh Ramjani took 3/13, Henry Ssenyondo 3/31, and Frank Nsubuga 2/22, allowing Uganda to dismiss Bahrain in 40.5 overs.

For Bahrain, Haider Butt was a notable performer with a score of 50, but they concluded the tournament in fourth place, four points behind Uganda.
