Uganda Launched the 55th AFRAA Annual General Assembly Set to Be Hosted in November 2023
The 55th African Airlines Association (AFRAA) Annual General Assembly (AGA) was launched yesterday, 30th May 2023 at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala. Uganda Airlines will host the 55th Annual General Assembly (AGA) Summit of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) in November 2023 from 19th to 21st at the Commonwealth Speake Resort Hotel, Munyonyo. The fact that Uganda Airlines and our beloved nation will be hosting this illustrious event fills us with enormous joy and pride.
The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) is a trade association of airlines from the member states of the African Union (AU). It is made up of all the main intercontinental African carriers and has 44 airlines from across the African continent as members.
Ms. Jennifer Bamuturaki, CEO of Uganda Airlines who also doubles as the President of AFRAA 2023 while addressing the press at Uganda Media Centre indicated that the Ministry of Works and Transportation would be highly supportive of the Annual General Assembly.
“I would like to thank Hon. Gen. Katumba Wamala for standing by us and accepting to be the Patron and anchor of this great event. This year, Uganda Airlines pledges to open its doors of hospitality, warmth, and service to all delegates of the 55th AFRAA-AGA. This will be no ordinary General Assembly; it will be exciting and engaging, with many learnings drawn from industry developments,” she said.
The 55th AFRAA Annual General Assembly was launched by the distinguished Hon. Gen.Katumba Wamala – Minister of Works and Transport, Mr. Abdérahmane Berth, AFRAA Secretary General and Ms. Jennifer Bamuturaki, CEO Uganda Airlines.
Abdérahmane Berth’s visit to Uganda comes at a time Uganda Airlines is implementing its ambitious global strategic growth plan, he will hold meetings with the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines, Jenifer Bamuturaki, and works and transport minister, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala. The meeting will focus on strategic cooperation in areas that accelerate African Air transport growth to play bigger on a global scene.
According to Gen Katumba, Minister of Works and Transport, Uganda Airlines’ recognition and hosting of the 55th annual General Assembly of the AFRAA is a strong expression of confidence in the nation and confirmation that the national carrier’s revival was not in vain.
The 55th AFRAA Annual General Assembly in Uganda marks a milestone for the country’s aviation industry. As Uganda prepares to host this prestigious event in November 2023, it reaffirms its commitment to becoming a key player in the African aviation sector. About 500 prominent participants from the aviation sector in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America are anticipated to attend the event.
