Speke Resort, Munyonyo will host the upcoming Uganda-South Africa Investment and Trade Summit 2023, which is poised to be a game-changer in the realms of bilateral relations and commerce. Slated for September 7 – 8, the event aims to create an interactive nexus between Uganda and South Africa, spotlighting under the theme ‘Accelerating Investments and Trade.’ This collaborative effort between the two nations is set to pave the way for enhanced trade, shared experiences, and a vibrant exchange of entrepreneurial ventures, all in the spirit of mutual growth and development.

Designed primarily as a business meeting and platform, the Summit intends to amalgamate a vast array of stakeholders. From trade and investment policymakers, key business communities, to trade support institutions, regional and multilateral organizations – this will be a melting pot of innovative ideas and strategic partnerships, all under one roof.

This grand initiative is the brainchild of the governments of both Uganda and South Africa, which highlights the mutual interests and aspirations of the two nations. Major corporates have also thrown their weight behind the event, with MTN Uganda leading the sponsorship charge, among other key sponsors.

The Summit’s overarching aim is ambitious and clear: to catalyse networking among the private sector, governmental entities, and business regulatory agencies. The goal? To exchange experiences, unravel win-win investment and trade opportunities, and shed light on facilitating streamlined business processes. In doing so, the Summit also aims to pinpoint emerging investment opportunities and tackle pertinent challenges.

Beyond the immediate scope of Uganda and South Africa, this event has broader implications. It embodies the spirit of empowerment for the peoples of both nations, fostering a deeper understanding and collaboration at a bilateral level. Moreover, it stands as a testament to the two countries’ commitment to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
