UPDF Partners With Abu Dhabi Private Security Group
The Chief of Joint Staff of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, Maj Gen Jack Bakasumba, welcomed a delegation led by H.E Mohammad Hamdan Alzaabi, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Security Service Group, at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) Headquarters in Mbuya.
The delegation headed by H.E. Mohammad Hamdan Alzaabi, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Security Service Group (GSSG), was received by Maj Gen Jack Bakasumba, the Chief of Joint Staff (CJS) of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) Headquarters in Mbuya on 30th June 2024.
The meeting underscored the robust bilateral relations between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates, with Maj Gen Bakasumba expressing sincere appreciation to GSSG for its steadfast support to the UPDF. He particularly highlighted the significant role of GSSG in providing advanced training that has bolstered the operational capabilities of the UPDF.
In reciprocation, H.E Mohammad Hamdan Alzaabi commended the UPDF for its pivotal role in fostering stability across the region. He reiterated GSSG’s commitment to collaborating closely with the UPDF in harmonizing training programs aimed at enhancing peace and stability throughout the region.
Joining the discussions were Brig Gen Alex Olupot, responsible for Joint Staff – Training and Doctrine, alongside Brig Gen Fred Twinamatsiko, who serves as the Director of Training, alongside other senior officers from both the UPDF and GSSG.
The fruitful discussions centered on strategies to further strengthen the partnership between UPDF and GSSG, focusing on mutual training initiatives that aim to equip regional personnel with the necessary skills and expertise to effectively contribute to regional security.
As a gesture of goodwill and partnership, Maj Gen Bakasumba and H.E Mohammad Hamdan Alzaabi exchanged souvenirs to symbolize the commitment of both organizations towards continued collaboration and shared goals in promoting peace and security.
The meeting concluded with a group photograph, capturing the camaraderie and shared vision between the UPDF leadership, GSSG executives, and senior officers present, highlighting a promising future of enhanced cooperation in the realm of defense and security training.
