On Monday, November 6, 2023, at Musubi Avocado Farm in Mayuge District, the Commandant of the National Defence College – Uganda (NDC-U), Maj Gen Francis Okello, reiterated the call for the mechanization of agriculture as a way to increase food production in Uganda for both domestic consumption and export.

He made the remarks at Musubi Avocado Farm, Uganda’s leading Avocado growing and producing farm that is located in Mayuge District where he led a team of course participants from NDC-U who are on a domestic study tour.

“The President and Commander-in-Chief H.E Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has always emphasized on mechanisation of agriculture for better yields and increased production for both consumption and commercial purposes as opposed to subsistence farming. It’s therefore incumbent upon us as leaders to come up with a better strategy to ensure this comes to reality,” said Maj Gen Okello.
