The feature to pin chats within individual and group conversations is being rolled out by WhatsApp. Users can pin various types of conversations, such as text, polls, images, and emojis, according to the company. Users are limited to one pinned chat at a time, though.

The chat app owned by Meta stated that you can choose “Pin” from the menu by long-pressing on a conversation. There are three options available: 24 hours, 7 days (the default option), and 30 days.

This is especially helpful if you are visiting a friend for the first time; they can easily provide you with their address by pinning it at the top of the chat window. For groups, it might be specifics regarding an occasion or a location where they can get important information or rules.

According to the company, group administrators have the option of allowing any member or only other admins to pin messages.

Users of Telegram and iMessage, rivals of WhatsApp, can already choose to send pin messages in both individual and group chats. It’s unclear if WhatsApp intends to add Channels to the pinned messages feature.

WhatsApp introduced the feature last week that allowed users to record voice messages that would vanish after the recipient could only listen to them once.
